Fire department

The Towanda Fire Department is a volunteer fire department governed by the Towanda City Council.  It is funded by the City of Towanda as well as the Towanda Township and the Fairview Township, both of which fall within the Towanda Fire District.  The Towanda Fire Department provides response for fire suppression, medical, rescue, with limited hazardous materials response.  The Towanda Fire Department encompasses 56 miles of grassland, oil production, and crops surrounding the City of Towanda.
